UNCOUPLING / WATERPROOFING / DRAINAGE

Uncoupling

Schluter®-DITRA

Schluter®-DITRA is a polyethylene membrane with a grid structure of square cavities, each cut back in a dovetail configuration, and an anchoring fleece laminated to its underside. DITRA is bonded to the substrate using thin-set mortar. The anchoring fleece on the underside of DITRA is fully engaged in the mortar to provide a mechanical bond to the substrate. Tile is installed over DITRA using the thin-bed method in such a way that the mortar becomes mechanically anchored in the square, cutback cavities of the Schluter-DITRA matting.

Designed specifically for ceramic tile and dimension stone installations, DITRA serves as an uncoupling layer, waterproofing membrane, and vapor management layer that accommodates moisture from beneath the tile covering. Further, DITRA performs all these functions while still providing adequate support/load distribution for the tile covering.

Schluter®-DITRA-XL

Schluter®-DITRA-XL provides the same four essential functions as Schluter-DITRA (uncoupling, waterproofing, vapor management, and support/load distribution), but is 5/16″ (7 mm) thick, allowing for even transitions between ceramic tile and 3/4″ (19 mm) -thick hardwood flooring and ceramic tile application on single-layer wood subfloors on joists spaced at 24″ (610 mm) o.c.

Waterproofing

Schluter®-KERDI

Schluter®-KERDI is a pliable sheet-applied polyethylene waterproofing membrane and vapor retarder that guarantees uniform thickness. It is covered with an anchoring fleece on both sides to anchor the membrane in thin-set mortar and is suitable for waterproofing in conjunction with tiled surfaces on walls and floors. KERDI is listed by cUPC® and evaluated by ICC-ES (Report No. ESR-2467).
KERDI has been found to emit zero VOCs (test methods: CA 01350 and ASTM D5116) and can contribute towards achieving green building credits.

Schluter®-KERDI-BAND

Schluter®-KERDI-BAND is a waterproofing strip used to seal butt joints and floor/wall connections with the Schluter®-KERDI and Schluter®-DITRA membranes, as well as profile connections with the Schluter®-BARA balcony edging profile series.

Schluter®-KERDI-KERECK-F

Schluter®-KERDI-KERECK-F are pre-formed, seamless corners made of Schluter®-KERDI for waterproofing inside and outside corners.

Schluter®-KERDI-FLEX

Schluter®-KERDI-FLEX is a flexible polyethylene waterproofing strip used to seal movement joints over Schluter®-DITRA in specialty applications where large movements are expected (i.e.: over expansion joints or construction joints).

Schluter®-KERDI-SEAL-PS/-MV

Schluter®-KERDI-SEAL-PS/-MV prefabricated seals are cut sections of the Schluter®-KERDI waterproofing membrane designed to seal protrusions through the Schluter®-KERDI or Schluter®-DITRA/DITRA-XL membranes.

KERDI-SEAL-PS and -MV feature over-molded rubber gaskets and are used to seal pope protrusions and protect moisture-sensitive backing panels at the mixing valve.

Schluter®-KERDI-FIX

Schluter®-KERDI-FIX is a single-component sealing and bonding compound with a silane-modified polymer base. It is odor-neutral, UV and weather- resistant, and contains no solvents. KERDI-FIX is elastomeric and bonds well to most materials, such as wood, stone, concrete, metal, glass, and many plastics.

KERDI-FIX is suitable bonding Schluter®-KERDI-BAND and Schluter®-KERDI waterproofing membrane to fixed building elements and Schluter®-BARA balcony profiles. KERDI-FIX is also suitable for use as a sealant or joint filling compound.

Schluter®-TROBA

Schluter®-TROBA is a reliable and durable sub-surface drainage system for use over horizontal waterproofing layers. It consists of a pressure-stable polyethylene sheet with perforated studs, which enable the water to flow freely to the sloped waterproofing layer and on to the designated drainage exit.

Schluter®-TROBA-PLUS

Schluter®-TROBA-PLUS is a durable sub-surface drainage system that permits water to drain off freely and reliably. The closely positioned, cone-shaped studs are covered by a water permeable filter fabric. They serve to support the floor covering over the entire surface, thus creating a continuous drainage area above the waterproofing layer.

SHOWER SYSTEM

Schluter®-KERDI-DRAIN

Schluter®-KERDI-DRAIN is a floor drain with an integrated bonding flange that provides a large contact area for a secure connection to the Schluter®-KERDI waterproofing membrane and other bonded waterproofing membranes at the top of the assembly. KERDI-DRAIN is appropriate for both mortar bed and Schluter®-KERDI-SHOWER-ST shower tray applications.

The bonding flange is sloped to simplify installation of the mortar bed. KERDI-DRAIN features a fully adjustable grate that accommodates a wide range of tile thicknesses: 1/4″ (6 mm) to 1-1/4″ (32 mm). The grate assembly allows lateral and tilt adjustment as well.

Schluter®-KERDI-SHOWER-ST

Schluter®-KERDI-SHOWER-ST is a sloped shower tray made of lightweight, expanded
polystyrene for constructing mortar-free shower receptors. It is specifically designed to integrate with Schluter®-KERDI-SHOWER-SC, KERDI, and KERDI-DRAIN.

Schluter®-KERDI-SHOWER-SC

Schluter®-KERDI-SHOWER-SC is a lightweight, expanded polystyrene shower curb specifically designed to integrate with Schluter®-Shower-System.

Schluter®-KERDI-SHOWER-SR

Schluter®-KERDI-SHOWER-SR is a lightweight, expanded polystyrene shower ramp specifically designed to integrate with Schluter®-Shower-System.

Schluter®-KERDI-SHOWER-SB

Schluter®-KERDI-SHOWER-SB are lightweight, expanded polystyrene shower benches specifically designed to integrate with the Schluter®-Shower System. They are stable and load bearing, feature sloped surfaces, and are quick and easy to install.

Schluter®-SCHIENE

Schluter®-SCHIENE is designed to provide edging for tile coverings. Typical applications include edge protection where tile is bordered by carpet, at expansion joints, or as a decorative edging for stairs.

The profile features a trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg, which is secured in the mortar bond coat beneath the tile, and an 87° sloped vertical wall section that transfers point loads to the substrate and surface covering while protecting the tile edges from damage.

Schluter®-DECO

Schluter®-DECO is designed to provide decorative lines within tile coverings and edge protection at transitions from tile coverings to other same-height surface coverings, such as wood or carpet.

The profile features a trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg, which is secured in the mortar bond coat beneath the tile, and a 1/4″ (6 mm) wide visible surface that meets the high aesthetic requirements of showrooms, lobbies, galleries, exhibition booths, etc.

Schluter®-RENO-T

Schluter®-RENO-T is designed to provide transitions between existing same-height, hard-surface floor coverings (e.g., ceramic tile or natural stone, parquet flooring, concrete pavers, laminate, etc.), primarily in retrofit applications.

The profile is installed within the existing joint cavity and overlaps adjoining surface materials, thus preventing edges from becoming damaged when subjected to mechanical stress.

Schluter®-RENO-TK

Schluter®-RENO-TK is designed to provide a smooth transition from tile coverings to floor coverings at lower elevations, typically carpet.

The profile features a trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg, which is secured in the mortar bond coat beneath the tile, and a sloped surface to eliminate trip hazards and protect the tile edges. The 1/4″ (6 mm) channel beneath the sloped flange of the profile hides and protects the cut edge of lower adjoining surface coverings.

All sizes of RENO-TK are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Schluter®-RENO-U

Schluter®-RENO-U is designed to provide a smooth transition between tile coverings and floor coverings at lower elevations or finished concrete.

The profile features a trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg, which is secured in the mortar bond coat beneath the tile, and a sloped surface (approximately 25º) that eliminates trip hazards and protects tile edges.

Schluter®-RENO-RAMP

Schluter®-RENO-RAMP is designed to provide a smooth transition between tile coverings and floor coverings at lower elevations or finished concrete, particularly in commercial applications where wheel carts are used (e.g., bakeries, hospitals, etc.).

The profile features a trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg, which is secured in the mortar bond coat beneath the tile and a 2-7/16″ (61 mm) or 3-3/8″ (86 mm) sloped transition surface that terminates at the height of the tile edge.

The profile protects tile edges and provides a sloped surface to eliminate trip hazards and allow easy access for wheel carts. Schluter-RENO-RAMP, except size 1/8″ (3 mm), features an integrated joint spacer that establishes a defined joint cavity between the tile and the profile.

All sizes of Schluter-RENO-RAMP, except sizes 9/16″ (15 mm) and 3/4″ (20 mm), are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Schluter®-RENO-V

Schluter®-RENO-V Is designed to provide a smooth transition between tile coverings and floor coverings at lower elevations.

The profile features a trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg, which is secured in the mortar bond coat beneath the tile, and a movable transition arm that allows the profile to adjust to the height of the adjacent floor covering via a ball-and-socket joint.

The profile protects tile edges and provides a sloped surface to eliminate trip hazards. RENO-V features an integrated joint spacer that establishes a defined joint cavity between the tile and the profile.

RENO-V is also suitable for heavy-duty applications (e.g., entrances to garages or loading docks). In such cases, the adjustable arm is backfilled with mortar.

Schluter®-JOLLY

Schluter®-JOLLY is a finishing and edge-protection profile for the outside corners of tiled surfaces.

It features a trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg that is secured in the mortar bond coat beneath the tile, and an 87° sloped vertical wall section that provides a decorative finish and protects adjacent tiles.

Schluter®-QUADEC

Schluter®-QUADEC is a finishing and edge-protection profile for the outside corners of tiled surfaces. It features a trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg that is secured in the mortar bond coat beneath the tile and a reveal that forms a square outer corner along the surface edge.

QUADEC allows for modern decorative design and interesting contrasts. The profile can be combined with the Schluter®-QUADEC-FS feature strip profile and the Schluter®-DESIGNLINE border profile for further design options. In addition to its decorative effect, the profile protects tile edges against damage caused by mechanical stresses.

QUADEC, in stainless steel, is particularly resistant to wear when used as edge protection. It may also be used as a stair nosing or floor transition profile.

QUADEC is suitable for transitions, corners, or dado coverings with other covering materials; for example, carpet, parquet, natural stone tiles, or poured epoxy coverings. The integrated joint spacer forms a defined joint cavity with the tile.

Note: QUADEC, in stainless steel, does not feature the integrated joint spacer.

Schluter®-QUADEC-FS

Schluter®-QUADEC-FS is a double-rail feature strip profile for producing accents in tile fields on walls, chair rails, and various other decorative applications.

The profile features a 2″ (51 mm) -wide recessed section with dovetailed grooves to which field or accent tile up to 5/16″ (8 mm) -thick is bonded. The top and bottom edges of the profile are square and designed to integrate with the Schluter®-QUADEC profile.

QUADEC-FS is anchored in the mortar bond coat between tile courses via its cross-sectional shape and can be used with thicker tiles by building up the setting material behind the profile. The profile may also be attached to the substrate with fasteners (e.g., where the profile is not surrounded by field tile).

Schluter®-RONDEC

Schluter®-RONDEC is a finishing and edge-protection profile for the outside corners of tiled surfaces. It features a trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg that is secured in the mortar bond coat beneath the tile and a reveal that forms a symmetrically rounded outer corner with 1/4″ (6 mm) radius along the surface edge.

RONDEC’s wide range of materials, colors, and surface finishes allows for color coordination with tile and grout and the creation of interesting accents in decorative designs.

In addition to its decorative effect, the profile protects tile edges against damage caused by mechanical stresses. RONDEC, in stainless steel, is particularly resistant to wear when used as edge protection. It may also be used as a stair nosing or transition profile.

RONDEC is suitable for transitions, corners, or dado coverings with other covering materials; for example, carpet, parquetry, natural stone tiles, or cold-cured resin coverings. The integrated joint spacer forms a defined joint cavity with the tile.

Note: Schluter-RONDEC, in stainless steel, does not feature the integrated joint spacer.

Schluter®-RONDEC-STEP

Schluter®-RONDEC-STEP is a finishing and edging profile for ceramic tile and dimension stone installations on countertops and stairs.

The profile features a trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg, which is secured in the mortar bond coat beneath the tile. The top of the profile features a symmetrically rounded edge with 1/4″ (6 mm) radius, which matches the Schluter®-RONDEC profile, while the vertical leg of the profile hides the exposed edge of the sub-assembly.

In addition, the profile effectively protects tiles in the edge area from mechanical and impact stresses. The integrated joint spacer establishes a defined joint cavity between the tile and the profile. RONDEC-STEP is suitable for residential applications, e.g., stairs not exposed to heavy traffic, and countertops.

RONDEC-STEP is available in two different vertical leg lengths, 1-3/8″ (35 mm) and 2-1/4″ (57 mm), to cover the edge of the sub-assembly. The profile is available in anodized aluminum with various finishes to allow for decorative design and interesting accents.

Schluter®-RONDEC-CT

Schluter®-RONDEC-CT is a double-rail edging profile for countertops to be fitted with a ceramic or dimension stone tile covering.

The profile features a trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg that is secured in the mortar bond coat beneath the tile, while the face of the profile features a recessed section with dovetailed grooves to which field or accent tile is bonded.

The top and bottom edges of the profile are symmetrically rounded 1/4″ (6 mm radius) and match the RONDEC profile. The 1-9/16″ (39 mm) vertical leg of the profile hides the exposed edge of the sub-assembly.

The integrated joint spacer establishes a defined joint cavity between the tile and the profile. The profile is available in anodized aluminum with various surface finishes to allow for decorative design and interesting accents.

Schluter®-ECK-E

Schluter®-ECK-E is a stainless steel edging profile for outside corners of tiled walls that offers excellent edge protection against mechanical stresses; for example, in industrial kitchens and hospitals.

In addition, the profile produces a radiused edge along the outside wall corner for a clean, decorative finish. ECK-E features trapezoid-perforated anchoring legs that are secured in the mortar bond coat beneath the tile.

ECK-E is especially suitable for areas where strict hygienic requirements must be met (e.g., hospitals, industrial kitchens, clean rooms, washrooms, and food-processing plants) and where aesthetic appeal is desired.

ECK-E can be combined with the cove-shaped stainless steel profiles, Schluter®-DILEX-EHK (for inside wall corners) and Schluter®-DILEX-HKS (for floor/wall transitions).

Schluter®-ECK-K

Schluter®-ECK-K is a stainless steel edging profile for outside corners of tiled walls that offers excellent edge protection against mechanical stresses; for example, in industrial kitchens and hospitals.

In addition, the profile produces a radiused edge along the outside wall corner for a clean, decorative finish. ECK-K is bonded to the outside corners of existing installations. As such, Schluter®-ECK-K can be installed as a repair so that existing damaged corners do not have to be replaced.

ECK-K is especially suitable for areas where strict hygienic requirements must be met (e.g., hospitals, industrial kitchens, clean rooms, washrooms, and food-processing plants) and where aesthetic appeal is desired.

ECK-K can be combined with the cove-shaped stainless steel profiles, Schluter®-DILEX-EHK (for inside wall corners) and Schluter®-DILEX-HKS (for floor/wall transitions).

Schluter®-RONDEC-DB is an anodized aluminum decorative profile for wall and skirting edges that protects the surface covering from mechanical or impact stresses.

The profile features a trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg that is secured in the mortar bond coat beneath the tile and a pronounced visible surface that establishes a clean line along tile edges and allows for decorative design.

RONDEC-DB can also be used as a finishing profile within wall surfaces; for example, where other covering materials such as plaster, wallpaper, or tiles are to be joined.

Schluter®-DESIGNLINE

Schluter®-DESIGNLINE is a border profile for producing decorative designs in interior wall coverings.

The profile is designed to coordinate with the corresponding Schluter®-RONDEC profiles for outside wall corners.

DESIGNLINE has a 1″ (25 mm) wide surface area and a thickness of 1/4″ (6 mm). It is anchored in the mortar bond coat between tile courses via its cross sectional shape and can be used with thicker tiles by building up the setting material behind the profile.

Schluter®-REMA

Schluter®-REMA is the ideal system for creating concealed access panels in tiled wall coverings.

The REMA assembly kit consists of four aluminum brackets with molded casings containing magnets that are clamped to lateral, movable guide shoes, and four ferro-magnetic metal counterplates. REMA installation is independent of tile size and thickness and enables exact matching of the access panel to the overall joint design. Thus, panels that access electrical or plumbing components do not impair the visual appearance of the tile covering.

Stairs

Schluter®-TREP-T/-MT/-TL

Schluter®-TREP-T/-MT/-TL are designed to protect tiled stair edges and provide an easily visible, slip-resistant wear surface for durable, safe, and visually appealing stair-nosing design. The profiles feature a trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg made of rigid PVC, which is secured in the mortar bond coat beneath the tile and supports a soft slip-resistant PVC wear surface. The slip-resistant tread is designed to increase visibility, adding a high degree of safety to stairs.

TREP-T/-MT/-TL are intended for use in residential areas or areas with similar traffic. The profiles are permanently installed in the covering and cannot be replaced when damaged by excessive wear (Schluter®-TREP-SE/-S/-B offer replaceable inserts).

TREP-T has a consistent, uniform color at the wear surface, while TREP-MT features a decorative brass inlay covered with a clear, soft PVC layer. TREP-TL features a luminescent inlay that glows for up to 10 hours after exposure to light. This increases the visibility of stair edges in the dark and at dusk.

Schluter®-TREP-SE/-S/-B

Schluter®-TREP-SE/-S/-B are designed to protect tiled stair edges and provide an easily visible, slip-resistant wear surface for durable, safe, and visually appealing stair-nosing design. They are suitable for use in areas subjected to heavy foot-traffic, such as offices or public buildings.

The profiles feature a trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg made of stainless steel (TREP-SE) or aluminum (TREP-S and TREP-B), which is secured in the mortar bond coat beneath the tile an supports a slip-resistant thermoplastic rubber wear surface.

The tread surface of TREP-SE/-S/-B is available in a variety of colors and can be replaced in case of damage or wear.

The tread surface meets or exceeds the static coefficient of friction recommendation in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), for use in applications where the risk of slipping exists (United States Testing Company, test method ASTM C1028, 0.6 wet, 0.8 dry).

TREP-B features a 2-1/8″ (52 mm) wide wear surface, easily allowing the designer to produce stairs with the first and the last step marked by a 2″ (50 mm) wide strip in a contrasting color to increase visibility and safety.

The leading edges of TREP-SE/-S/-B have a 5/16″ (8 mm) radius.

Schluter®-TREP-TAP is an anodized aluminum cover profile that integrates with the TREP-S/-B stair-nosing profiles to conceal the top of the riser.

Schluter®-TREP-E/-EK

Schluter®-TREP-E is designed to protect tiled stair edges and provide an easily visible, slip-resistant wear surface for durable, safe, and visually appealing stair-nosing design. The profile is made of attractive and durable stainless steel, making it particularly suited for areas subjected to heavy foot traffic, such as offices or public buildings.

TREP-E can be integrated into stairs covered with tile or natural stone, as well as into a screed or a surface coating that is a minimum 3/32″ (2 mm) thick via the trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg. When integrated into screed layers, the anchoring leg of the profile must be covered with at least 9/16″ (15 mm) of mortar.

TREP-EK is a variant without an anchoring leg. TREP-EK is adhered to existing steps, e.g., for retrofitting over damaged edges, eliminating the need to replace the entire step.

The TREP-E wear surface meets or exceeds the coefficient of friction recommendation in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), for use in applications where the risk of slipping exists (Tile Council of North America (TCA), test method ASTM C 1028, .66 wet or dry).

Schluter®-TREP-G/-GK

Schluter®-TREP-G is designed to protect tiled stair edges and provide an easily visible, slip-resistant wear surface for durable, safe, and visually appealing stair-nosing design. The profile is made of attractive and durable stainless steel with a special slip-resistant tread, making it particularly suited for areas subjected to heavy foot traffic, such as offices or public buildings.

The surface features a self-adhesive, slip-resistant tread with an embedded mineral grain coating. The treads are available in a variety of colors and can be replaced in case of damage or wear.

The profile can be integrated into stairs covered with tile or natural stone, as well as into a screed or surface coating.

TREP-GK is a variant of the profile without an anchoring leg. TREP-GK is adhered to existing steps, e.g., for retrofitting over damaged edges, eliminating the need to replace the entire step.

Schluter®-TREP-FL

Schluter®-TREP-FL is a decorative stainless steel stair-nosing profile with a protruding rounded edge that can be integrated into stairs covered with tile or stone. ??The profile protects the front edge of stairs and adds a high degree of safety by improving the visibility of the stair edges.

TREP-FL is suitable for use in a wide range of applications, including residential areas subjected to light foot traffic, as well as areas subjected to heavy foot traffic, such as offices or public buildings.

Schluter®-RONDEC-STEP

Schluter®-RONDEC-STEP is a finishing and edging profile for ceramic tile and dimension stone installations on countertops and stairs.

The profile features a trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg, which is secured in the mortar bond coat beneath the tile. The top of the profile features a symmetrically rounded edge with 1/4″ (6 mm) radius, which matches the Schluter®-RONDEC profile, while the vertical leg of the profile hides the exposed edge of the sub-assembly.

In addition, the profile effectively protects tiles in the edge area from mechanical and impact stresses. The integrated joint spacer establishes a defined joint cavity between the tile and the profile. RONDEC-STEP is suitable for residential applications, e.g., stairs not exposed to heavy traffic, and counter tops.

RONDEC-STEP is available in two different vertical leg lengths, 1-3/8″ (35 mm) and 2-1/4″ (57 mm), to cover the edge of the sub-assembly. The profile is available in anodized aluminum with various finishes to allow for decorative design and interesting accents.

Schluter®-DILEX-MOP

Schluter®-DILEX-MOP is available in three different heights and features stable serrated sidewalls made of rigid PVC and a central movement zone made of soft PVC. The side sections are made with environmentally friendly recycled PVC and may vary slightly in color. Since the side sections are partially exposed at the surface, DILEX-MOP is intended mainly for industrial use.

Schluter®-DILEX-MP/-MPV

Schluter®-DILEX-MP adjusts to the thickness of the mortar bed and tile surface by attaching the DILEX-MPV extensions. The profile features a central movement zone made of soft chlorinated polyethylene (CPE), which overlaps the recycled rigid PVC side sections by approximately 1/32″ (1 mm), thus providing a more aesthetically pleasing exposed surface when compared to Schluter®-DILEX-MOP.

Schluter®-DILEX-EZ 6 + 9

Schluter®-DILEX-EZ 6 + 9 are prefabricated, maintenance-free surface movement joint profiles suitable for residential to medium-duty commercial applications.

The profiles feature rigid PVC side walls, which are connected on top and bottom by soft PVC movement zones that form the visible surfaces. These profiles separate individual fields in the tile covering and accommodate movement through the soft PVC movement zones.

Each profile features two usable surfaces in different colors for increased design options. One surface of the profile features the PVC movement zone in a solid color, while the other surface features a brass, chrome, or luminescent inlay embedded in the PVC movement zone. The luminescent inlay glows for up to 10 hours after exposure to light, increasing the profile’s visibility in the dark and at dusk.

DILEX-EZ 6 + 9 are flexible and can be used to form curves. The height, “H”, of DILEX-EZ 6 is 1/4″ (6 mm); the height, “H”, of DILEX-EZ 9 is 11/32″ (9 mm).

Schluter®-DILEX-BWS

Schluter®-DILEX-BWS is a prefabricated, maintenance-free surface movement joint profile. It features trapezoid-perforated anchoring legs, made of recycled rigid PVC, which are secured in the mortar bond coat and provide edge protection for adjacent tiles. The profile separates individual fields in the tile covering and accommodates movement via the soft chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) movement zone, which also forms the visible surface.

The movement zone is only 3/16″ (5 mm) wide, matching common grout joint widths. The profile absorbs relatively limited movements, given the width of the movement zone. This should be taken into account when evaluating the requirements for a specific application.

If larger movements within the covering are anticipated, the DILEX-BWS may be installed with greater frequency to create smaller fields, or the Schluter®-DILEX-BWB (3/8″ (10 mm) movement zone) may be used.

DILEX-BWS is suitable for both residential and medium-duty commercial applications, such as offices and stores, subject to light mechanical loads (e.g., offices and stores). The profile is also suited for exterior use.

Schluter®-DILEX-BWB

Schluter®-DILEX-BWB is a prefabricated, maintenance-free surface movement joint profile. It features trapezoid-perforated anchoring legs, made of recycled rigid PVC, which are secured in the mortar bond coat and provide edge protection for adjacent tiles.

The profile separates individual fields in the tile covering and accommodates movement via the soft chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) movement zone, which also forms the visible surface. The movement zone is 3/8″ (10 mm) wide, matching common movement joint widths, and is thus capable of accommodating relatively large movements.

DILEX-BWB is suitable for both residential use and medium-duty commercial applications subject to light mechanical loads (e.g., offices or stores). The profile is also suited for exterior use.

Schluter®-DILEX-AKWS

Schluter®-DILEX-AKWS is a prefabricated, maintenance-free surface movement joint profile. It features trapezoid-perforated anchoring legs, made of aluminum, which are secured in the mortar bond coat and provide edge protection for adjacent tiles.

The profile separates individual fields in the tile covering and accommodates movement via the 1/4″ (6 mm) -wide, soft PVC movement zone, which also forms the visible surface. The soft PVC movement zone is connected to the anchoring legs with rigid PVC grip bars and is not replaceable.

DILEX-AKWS is suitable for both residential use and medium-duty commercial applications, such as areas subject to moderate mechanical stresses, including light vehicular traffic. In addition, DILEX-AKWS prevents sound bridges, making it ideal for use in sound-rated floors.

Schluter®-DILEX-EDP

Schluter®-DILEX-EDP is a pre-fabricated, maintenance-free surface movement joint profile. It features trapezoid-perforated anchoring legs, made of stainless steel, which are secured in the mortar bond coat and provide edge protection for adjacent tiles. The profile separates individual fields in the tile covering and accommodates horizontal movement via the stainless steel tongue-and-groove connection, which also forms the visible surface.

Because the profile is designed to absorb horizontal movement only, appropriate measures must be taken to prevent the screed from moving vertically. In its base position, the visible width of the DILEX-EDP profile is 15/32″ (12 mm).

The profile is particularly suited for tile surfaces subject to heavy use. DILEX-EDP offers secure edge protection for surfaces exposed to continuous vehicular traffic and is, therefore, suited for use in production plants, warehouses, shopping centers, and underground parking garages, or for floor surfaces maintained with cleaning machines.

Schluter®-DILEX-KSN/-EKSB

Schluter®-DILEX-KSN Is a pre-fabricated, maintenance-free surface movement joint profile. It features trapezoid-perforated anchoring legs, made of stainless steel, solid brass, or aluminum, which are secured in the mortar bond coat and provide edge protection for adjacent tiles.

The profile separates individual fields in the tile covering and accommodates movement via the 7/16″ (11 mm) wide, soft thermoplastic rubber movement zone, which also forms the visible surface. The thermoplastic rubber movement zone can be replaced if damaged.

DILEX-KSN, with solid brass or stainless steel anchoring legs, offers secure edge protection for surfaces exposed to heavy-duty commercial traffic (e.g., warehouses, production facilities, or shopping malls).

Schluter®-DILEX-EKSB, featuring stainless steel anchoring legs, is available in 3/32″ (2.5 mm), 3/16″ (4.5 mm), and 1/4″ (6 mm) heights to accommodate thinner floor coverings (e.g., VCT flooring or coatings). DILEX-EKSB is appropriate for residential to medium-duty commercial applications.

Note: The thermoplastic rubber movement zone for DILEX-EKSB is not replaceable.

Schluter®-DILEX-KSBT

Schluter®-DILEX-KSBT is a maintenance-free, prefabricated movement profile used to bridge expansion joints.

It features trapezoid-perforated anchoring legs, made of stainless steel, solid brass, or aluminum, which are secured in the mortar bond coat and provide edge protection for adjacent tiles against mechanical stresses.

The profile bridges expansion joints and accommodates movement via the 3/4″ (20 mm) or 1-3/16″ (30 mm) wide movement zone made of soft thermoplastic rubber, which also forms the visible surface. The special movement zone design allows for the 3/4″ (20 mm) insert to absorb movements of ±3/16″ (5 mm) and the 1-3/16″ (30 mm) insert to absorb movements of ±3/8″ (10 mm).

The thermoplastic rubber movement zone can be replaced if damaged. DILEX-KSBT offers secure edge protection for surfaces exposed to foot traffic and light vehicular traffic and is, therefore, suited for use in shopping centers, parking garages, and warehouses. The profile can be used in floor areas as well as wall areas, for a continuous, uniform appearance.

Schluter®-DILEX-BT/-BT/O/-BTS

Schluter®-DILEX-BT is a maintenance-free, prefabricated movement profile used to bridge expansion joints.

DILEX-BT features trapezoid-perforated anchoring legs, made of solid brass or anodized aluminum, which are secured in the mortar bond coat and provide edge protection for adjacent tiles against mechanical stresses.

The anchoring legs can also be integrated into the mortar bed for other covering materials, such as carpeting or VCT. Therefore, the profile can move together with the respective covering assembly. The 1-3/16″ (30 mm) wide telescopic center section absorbs movements of ±7/32″ (5 mm). The lateral pivot joints allow for the absorption of three-dimensional movement.

DILEX-BT offers secure edge protection for surfaces exposed to foot traffic as well as vehicular traffic and is, therefore, suited for use in warehouses, production facilities, shopping centers, airports, train stations, and parking garages, or for coverings cleaned with machines.

One variation of the profile, Schluter®-DILEX-BT/O, can be used to create expansion joints at floor/wall transitions. A second variation, Schluter®-DILEX-BTS, is added to completed surface coverings.

Schluter®-DILEX-KSA features a trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg made of stainless steel or aluminum, which is secured in the mortar bond coat and provides edge protection for adjacent tiles, and a self-adhesive backing strip that can be bonded to fixed building elements (e.g., door and window frames, bathtubs and shower trays, countertops, etc.).

The profile isolates the tile covering from the structure and accommodates movement via the 3/8″ (10 mm) -wide, soft thermoplastic rubber movement zone, which also forms the visible surface. The thermoplastic rubber movement zone can be replaced if damaged. DILEX-KSA uses the same anchoring leg as Schluter®-DILEX-KSN to allow for the same appearance throughout an installation.

DILEX-KSA also prevents sound bridges, making it ideal for transitions in sound-rated floors.

Schluter®-DILEX-AS

Schluter®-DILEX-AS features a trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg, made of rigid PVC, which is secured in the mortar bond coat beneath the tiles, and a flexible joining leg with self-adhesive tape to bond the profile to fixed building elements.

The profile isolates the tile covering from the fixed building element and accommodates movement via the flexible joining leg, which also forms the visible surface.

The profile does not replace waterproofing. Required waterproofing must be installed prior to the installation of the profile.

DILEX-AS also prevents sound bridges, making it ideal for transitions in sound-rated floors. Accessories include matching end caps and inside corners.

Note: Suitable for tiles 1/4″ to 1/2″ (6 mm to 12 mm) thick.

Schluter®-DILEX-BWA

Schluter®-DILEX-BWA features a trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg, made of recycled rigid PVC, which is secured in the mortar bond coat, and a dovetailed channel, made of recycled rigid PVC, which can be bonded to fixed building elements (e.g., door and window frames, bathtubs and shower trays, countertops, etc.) using Schluter-KERDI-FIX, epoxy resin, silicone, tile adhesive, etc.

The profile isolates the tile covering from the structure and accommodates movement via the 3/16″ (5 mm) wide soft chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) movement zone, which also forms the visible surface. The lower CPE movement zone is slit to maximize the absorption of movement.

DILEX-BWA also prevents sound bridges, making it ideal for transitions in sound-rated floors.

Schluter®-DILEX-EKE

Schluter®-DILEX-EKE features trapezoid-perforated anchoring legs, made of recycled rigid PVC, which are secured in the mortar bond coat.

MODULAR SCREED SYSTEM

Schluter®-BEKOTEC/BEKOTEC-F/BEKOTEC-DRAIN

The Schluter®-BEKOTEC family of products are lightweight modular screed systems that are used to create continuous screed surfaces without control joints or reinforcement and can also accommodate hydronic radiant heating tubes. They produce permanent flooring assemblies that are free from internal stresses by confining the shrinkage and curing stresses to smaller modules, which controls deformations such as curling and continuous cracks that are common in traditional screeds. Since they are floating systems, the assemblies can be customized to meet a range of heat and sound requirements. For use with ceramic tile, natural stone, or other surface coverings.

BEKOTEC is 1-3/8″ (35 mm)-thick and is made of expanded polystyrene.
BEKOTEC-F is 29/32″ (23 mm)-thick, and is made of polystyrene foil.
BEKOTEC-DRAIN is 29/32″ (23 mm)-thick, and is made of polystyrene foil with evenly spaced openings and interconnected drainage channels.

Schluter®-BEKOTEC-THERM-RH 75

Schluter®-BEKOTEC-THERM-RH 75 is a PVC clamp used to attach radiant heating tubes to the BEKOTEC (1-3/8″ – 35 mm)-thick panels. While the studs on the BEKOTEC panel are designed to hold the tubes in place, the clamp is especially useful for forming 45° angles with heating tubes in the studded panel.

Installation Panels

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD is a multifunctional tile substrate and building panel, which can also be used for creating bonded waterproofing assemblies with tile coverings.
It consists of an extruded polystyrene foam panel, with a special reinforcement material on both sides and fleece webbing for effective anchoring in thin-set mortar.

With the available panel thicknesses of 3/16″, 3/8″, 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″, 1-1/2″, and 2″ (5, 9, 12.5, 19, 25, 38, and 50 mm), KERDI-BOARD allows the installer to prepare and create a broad range of substrates and building elements for the installation of ceramic and natural stone tile that are flat, level, plumb, square, and dimensionally stable. With suitable preparation of the abutting seams and joint areas, the panel may be used for bonded waterproofing assemblies.

The boards are simply cut to size with a utility knife. The gridlines, which are printed on the surface, are helpful for neat and quick cuts and installation.

Tiles can be installed directly over KERDI-BOARD using the thin-set method.

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD-V

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD-V is a vertically grooved substrate and building panel for creating curved elements. If a larger expanse of panels is required, several panels can be connected along the edges with thin-set mortar, Schluter®-KERDI-FIX adhesive, or double-sided adhesive tape.

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD-E

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD-E is an L-shaped panel used to create corners and pipe or column coverings.

The panels feature a V-shaped groove and are shipped in a space-saving flat design, which makes them easy to store. The flat panels are also quick to cut to the necessary dimensions. Thin-set mortar, Schluter®-KERDI-FIX adhesive, or double-sided adhesive tape is applied to the V-groove. The panels are then folded prior to installation.

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD-U

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD-U is a U-shaped panel used to create pipe or column coverings.

The panels feature V-shaped grooves and are shipped in a space-saving flat design, which makes them easy to store. The flat panels are also quick to cut to the necessary dimensions. Thin-set mortar, Schluter-KERDI-FIX adhesive, or double-sided adhesive tape is applied to the V-grooves. The panels are then folded prior to installation.

Note: U-shaped panels may be divided into two L-shaped panels.

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD-ZC is a brushed stainless steel, U-shaped profile with one perforated anchoring leg. It is used to finish the edges of countertops, vanities, and similar structures in conjunction with the Schluter®-RONDEC or Schluter®-QUADEC finishing profiles.

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD-ZA

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD-ZA is a brushed stainless steel, U-shaped profile of with two perforated anchoring legs. It is used to finish visible edges of partition walls and shelves.

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD-ZB

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD-ZB is a stainless steel, U-shaped profile with three-sided perforation. It is used to fasten and stabilize partition walls and other structures made of Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD panels. The surfaces of the profile are hidden by the tile covering.

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD-ZSD

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD-ZSD are galvanized steel anchors, which are used to provide additional mechanical attachment of Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD when the bond between the thin-set mortar and the substrate is questionable.

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD-ZT

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD-ZT are galvanized steel washers, which are used to fasten Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD to stud framing. They feature tabs that penetrate the surface of the KERDI-BOARD and temporarily hold the washers in place to enable quick installation of the corresponding screws.

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD-ZS

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD-ZS are screws, which are used to fasten Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD to stud framing with the corresponding washers.

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD-ZDK

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD-ZDK is a double-sided adhesive tape used to attach Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD panels in joint areas or similar.

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD-ZSA

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD-ZSA is an adhesive tape for reinforcing the joint areas of Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD panels.

Schluter®-KERDI-BOARD-ZFP
